FDS will be adding the capability to interface the Honeywell Solid State
Cockpit Voice Recorder to the HHMPI download unit. This will give
customers a greater opportunity to download not only the flight data
recorder but the file for the CVR.
This new download feature saves time and cost of shipping due to the
removal of the CVR from the aircraft, a requirement used for readout and
maintenance services and subject to compulsory download per aircraft
per year. The download is simply completed by plugging in the interface cable (included in the HHMPI kit) into the CVR, select the tail number, and selecting download CVR (All data or time).
The interface for the HHMPI with Honeywell SSCVRs is due for release in July 2010.
